How do you..
How do you remove the black center dash around the radio?
I'm trying to figure this out because I I tried installing a switch for a system in my girlfriends car but ended up drilling a hole that became rather useless. I also need to know this because I'm going to do a LED conversion to the climate control lights along with the instrument cluster, cruise control, and defrost and hazard buttons.
I ended up mounting the switch in between the seats in the center console.

I haven't done it in a few months, but if I remember correctly:
1. Carefully pop off the emergency flasher switch and defroster switch with a flathead or eyeglass repair flathead
A. Remove the screws in the very back of the holes where these switches are
2. Take out the bottom dash piece (the one with the cigarette lighter plug in it)
A. There should be two screws up underneath on the metal bracket connecting the center console piece to the frame
B. Underneath here, there also may be screws holding the A/C control panel to the frame (remove these as well)
a. Remove the cable leading from the A/C control panel to the vent system further underneath your dash
4. I don't know if you still have the stock stereo still in or not, but if you have the aftermarket one, pop it out
5. Remove the little coin tray to the right of the stereo (should just pop out as well)
From this point, all the screws I can remember have been removed and it is just a bare piece of plastic, with only the A/C control panel still attached. You should be able to, with a little effort, pop the whole panel out. Also, now that you have the center console sitting in your lap, you can remove the A/C panel from the console and take it apart from there. Now just refer to the LED conversion threads for further advice. Hope this helps!
