how does the dash come out

Default how does the dash come out

i have a 1999 civic ex and i wanna put in my head unit but i cant figure out how the cd/dash comes out. im afraid i break.....

yep very similar only difference is the screws behind the bottom middle console going up holding the radio/temp bezel in place. the 99-00 use 4 bolts going straight up and then you can pull out the audio console.
the audio console will come out as one piece like this.

just unplug the wire harness plugs and when you pull the radio you have to remove the side temperature controls to access the side mounting screws on the left side.
and just be sure to use the right length screws for your radio when mounting the new radio!
i had to drill my holes a bit larger to mount my double din radio out the front just a bit more.
so if it doesnt fit just drill the holes in the metal mounting bracket a bit more to fit the radio just like you want it!

that stereo swap was a pain in the ***. i spent at least three hours getting evrything out and putting it back together

yes it is....

tho i forgot to tell ya. best to put a strap on the back of the radio and to a metal part of the dash brace to prevent as easy theft...
it may have takin you awhile to remove but a theif will just smash it out in under 30seconds to steal the radio.
but since its all back together now i wouldnt worry about it to much unless its a really nice radio.
