Default Infinity Reference

Just ordered some of these 2 ways for the front and 3ways for the back. I know alpine this and type s that...I listened to them at best buy and the infinitys sounded a lot cleaner.

Anybody have any experience with these?

Ill post pictures of the rear deck once I get them in next week. Now I just need an amp and a sub and an amp...and maybe a nicer head unit...

Meh, they're ok. I own them and really want to get rid of them for some better speakers. They lack midbass....really lack midbass. An amp would probably help that out though.

The tweeters are pretty harsh IMO. I loved them when i first got them, but as i learn more about car audio and listen to music i know well, i hear that the midbass just isn't there

yeah I would add an amp, makes a huge difference. Its like the difference between factory and good aftermarket speakers.

Yep they do Unfortunately, an amp cant help the tweeters.....they're too "bright" for my taste.

But really, i think you'll like them. the magnet for the 6.5s is waaay to big to fit into the factory hole....i had to cut out the plastic cup to get them to fit.

I was pretty happy with the set I bought 5 or 6 years ago. The rear 6x9s blew during the first year or so, but the 6 1/2" have been solid for me in the while I have had them. I have not tried them in my Civic yet because I will have cut out some of the stock door to fit them in.

I just installed the 6.5's into my door and they fit fine...by just i mean yesterday.

As far as quality. My deck puts out 22w rms which is relatively high for a hu but Im sure they would sound a lot better with an amp. I matched them with 6X9's (boston) but had the 6.5's in the car for a day longer. It was a large improvement but I wasnt super impressed. They were a little bright but I turned down the tweeter manually and then adjusted teh eq on my headunit and they are pretty dialed in now. all in all i paid like 50 for them with the harness so for the price i feel satisfied with them

just to reiterate i had to cut nothing to install them on my 2000 coupe. It was about 5 minutes total. just use the metal adapter from 3 screws to 4 and thats it...

My deck puts out like 18 RMS and i have to admit....they get loud! They are 2 ohm speakers.

Sweet glad to hear good things about them. The kappas sounded a little bit nicer, but I didnt have the extra 50 for them and I am impatient so I bought the refs instead. Hope to get ref 4ch amp to match maybe next month. I thought it was a pretty decent deal I paid 150 for both sets. The ref 4ch amp is 129 I think at the same site.
