Default Installing new stereo

The factory CD player has seen its last days in my 2003 Civic, so I'm installing a new headunit. From what I've found out so far, the factory unit has various connections in the back for things like ignition and keyless entry. Do I need to keep these connected and push the factory unit somewhere back into the dashboard, or can I take it out all together? I'd prefer to take it out all together, but I obviously dont want to lose things like keyless entry and the ability to start my car...

Do you have factory keyless and security?
If not.... no worries.

I don't think the 2003 has keyless entry built into the factory "head unit." Keyless entry systems in 98's and before did, but after that, I don't think it does. My '99 doesn't but I know the 98 relies on it.
