keyless entry
i bought a viper keyless entry..basic model with an unlock and lock buttons working but it also has an orange button with it looks like a speaker with lines coming out? and also a aux button? whats are those used for? (the last 2 buttons dont doing anything when pressed except for orange button that turns my hazards on)

the button with the speaker on it is a panic button. hold it down for a couple of seconds and the alarm should go off.
the aux is usually used if you hook up the power trunk release, which civics do not have stock. but it can also be used to activate any relay drivin function or external module like the power window module or something like that.

well then the horn wire is not hooked up correctly, or not hooked up at all.
I know that a lot of shops won't hook it up because most horns need a relay, and there is no real need for a horn on a keyless entry system. so by not hooking it up, they saved you a little money and they were able to finish it faster.
but if it was hooked up, the horn would honk repeatedly when you hit the panic button

yea when we install simple remote starts with keyless entry at the shop we do not hook up horn or wire in a siren. Just park lights so if that was done on yours then you would only get the park lights flashing when you activate the panic feature

ya thats how we do it at my shop too. the horn output is an extra 20 in labor because like I was saying it usually requires a relay which means more work and more time.
