Looking for a new headunit
So basically, thieves broke into my car and tried to pry out my stereo. It wasn't able to be pried out so they smashed my faceplate and stole my ipod...
Now I'm looking into a new unit.
I've seen the XML8100 which has some cool features... but I've read reviews on it, saying it is not that great. I don't like the permanent faceplate idea, but love the iPod control on it.
Basically, I don't need a CD player. I want one for iPod purely, maybe with an aux port. Bluetooth would be intense, iPod control is needed, removable faceplate is pretty necessary too since I drive a 4th gen. Single din as well...
Trying to not spend over $300 also.
Anyone have suggestions?

for about that price i'd say Kenwood kdc-x794. or if you'd like the bluetooth the x994. they both fit within your price range, excluding tax or shipping. these are two of the best h/u i've used this model year.
Heck yeah I got the KIV-700 and that is one SWEET radio. It's a media player and can play everything from your ipod including music videos and movies and it's a single DIN radio. I paid $300 for mine and it's awesome. There are so many bells and whistles. Theo nly problem with the 700 is that it doesn't have bluetooth but there are other versions that do. Hope that helps...also the faceplate isn't removable. :/
May I suggest an Alpine CDE-102? I have one and it is fantastic. It has a removable faceplate also. You press a button and the whole face pops off. I plug my iPod into the auxiliary port with an $8 Scosche cord from Wal-Mart (or you could buy the expensive cord from Alpine to control the iPod from the head unit. Eventually I will get around to buying it.) It is a good price, and you get an excellent system. It looks good too.
