Matching Amp to Subs
You probably do have the setup shown in your post #3. As long as you're sure it's still the factory setup, just consider it from outside the box as a pair of 4 ohm speakers and don't worry about the possibility of dual voice coils (if you even have them).
Right. You could also wire in parallel and use a mono amp: 1 x 800W RMS @ 2 ohm.
Slightly oversizing the amp wattage is not a problem, it's much better than undersized. You just have to be sure to set it up correctly.

alright so maybe I should get a 2x500W @ 4ohm amp to oversize it just a little bit?
if i only use one terminal from each sub on the terminals on the side of my box, and then bridge my amp, it plays both subs in mono. is that the mono configuration you are talking about?

the link only says 800W max, but i read on numerous other sites that the RMS is 400W.
The box's terminals are setup in a way that they expect you to wire them 2-channel so i'm assuming they're 400W RMS per channel.
usually loaded enclosures are what the rms watts are. im guessing its just giving you more wiring options. like you can wire each terminal to two channels with 200 watts each or you can wire them together to one channel that gives 400 watts.
