Default Memory problems

alright, so i got this new headunit (sony) and i can save all the stations and set the clock and everything, but once i shut off the car, it clears it all out the memory, and when i turn it back on, the headunit starts up as if i just bought it. what do i have to change this memory problem.

sorry if i put this thread in the wrong cat.

Did you connect the headunit with the factory harness? or did you take the lazy(but more complex) way out and wire the deck directly to the facroty harness? it sounds like the memory wire isn't connected. that or the sonnection isnt strong enough

it connects straight from the wirein harness from the car to the head unit. no splicing

well your saying you just instaled it?

if so ya might have switched the memory and power wires...... check them with a light tester.... the large yellow wires should always have power! the red should only be powered with the ignition....
ive done that before.... best way to find out is to pull the radio and test the conections on the radios harness that goes into the radio... NOT the radio itself cause you gotta unplug it to check wires of course

what ya think?
