Default Need help on what subwoofers to get!

Need help on what sub woofers to get on my 1998 honda civic dx, my budget is about $500. What amp and what subs? I am looking for alot of bass but I also wanna hear my music, I have kenwood speakers, two 3-way speakers 250watts in the front and two 5-way speakers 500watts in the back. Also should I amp my speakers as well? All I want is to be able to crank my music up and have quality and bass, I wanna hear my music and feel the bass.

I had two alpine type r's (12") and that thing would bump. Loved it. Stick with name brand, and you will be fine. You get what you pay for.

Welcome!
If you want quality and bass, you're going to need an equalizer and crossover. Trust me I thought my setup sounded good, but I installed a equalizer/crossover and it sounded alot better.
What kind of music do you normally listen to ( hip pop, rock, eletronic, etc..)? If you listen to rock, I would recommend 10" subs. If you listen to hip pop/ rap, I recommend 12"+ subs. Generally it is recommended to buy same brand ( alpine subs + alpine amp) but you don't have to ( I have two 10" kicker CVRs and a hifonics amp). To stay within you budget, I recommend 1 sub, that way you can spend some more on your amps ( going to need at least 2, 1 for your speakers, and 1 for your sub)

I could give you advice all day long on car audio as I used to install it but you cant afford what these guys are talking about for $500 so that being said, the most important part of a subwoofer install is the subwoofer box. The box can make poor quality subs sound good or if you have a poor quality box it can make top of the line subs sound terrible.
