It might be detecting a short in one of the speaker wires and shutting down. If all else fails, try it out of the car by connecting a source of 12 volts (e.g. a spare car battery with a fuse) (+) to the red and yellow wires, ground to the (-) and nothing else connected.

Well if it was working before he grounded the dvd cable then it could be something there. Try to run it with the normal unit ground connected and not the dvd cable, make sure thats ok, then go from there. At least you will know that it's something with the dvd ground.

i think that could be it cause i could remmeber one of the wires hitting the side and a little spark went off when i was connecting the ground so it could be a short in the speaker wire ho wdo i check if its that?>?

Unplug it at the back of the HU and use an ohm meter to check from each speaker wire in the car to ground. They should all be open (infinite resistance).

hey just so you know, the dvd ground ondual radios has to see a sequence of grounds and no ground, so you absolutely have to run a switch in line with that wire. it explains the sequence in the manual though. its really not difficult to do
