Default New Sub

So my sub finally broke (stupid suitcase....long story). But I needed a new one anyway. I have a 600 Watt Rockford Phosgate amp, what sub and brand would you guys recomend. Right now the one I have is a MTX 2000 that I got for free, and its a12 inches. I already have a box for a 12 obviously, so just buying the new speaker would be the easiest, but I kinda want a new box too, so I'm open for suggestions.

Also, what are you going for? Lots and lots of bass or bass with a nice clean sound?

hey, first off i wouldn go by peak wattage, go by continous watts or more commonly called RMS watts my guess if its a new rockford(the all black amps) and its a two channel if bridged to a mono at 2ohm it should yeild around 500-600 rms watts.thats around 1000 peak watts. i would go for a dvc 4 ohm sub. these are ideal for good sound and clarity.and gives you a choice if you want it wired 2 ohm or 4ohm. brands that i would try would be alpine (type R especially) audiobahn, and kicker all ive had good experience with. but i kno where to get subs super cheap onlinecarstereo.com they have many brands most people never heard of. but they are all top of the line componets and it doesnt kill your wallet either! free shipping too

if it's a two channel RF it's not gonna like 2 ohms. it might play for awhile but it's gonna get pissed off and shut down. 90% of two channel amps are 4 ohm stable when bridged
