This car literaly blows at picking up good FM signals. The antenna is old, and wiring is probably junk, but I dont have a clue how to replace it, looks like a hard wire-up for a different type. Either way, i need some opinions on how to get better FM without completely rewiring the car.

I know they make some devices that claim to help strengthen the signals, but do they work? I honestly never put one in anyones car, most cars pick up signal better then mine.

Who's done something similar, and what were your results.

Thanks!

Stu

Best thing to do is replace your antenna and the wiring going to it. It just goes down through the a piller under the dash adnd to the head unit.

Yes a new stock antenna and cable assembly is less than $20 even at full dealer list I think. Easy to replace but you must be sure to tie a string to the old wire so you can fish the new wire down.

ya you can get the replacement antenna pretty cheap, like 10, 15 bucks and its just 2 screws and running the new antenna wire. its prolly only like 30 min of work and should pick up signal very well
