Default question about XM radio

I just bought a 06 Hybrid Civic and have a few ideas for mods in mind. I am already buliding a custom grill for it.

Anyways, I was curious as to what I need to do to make the satellite radio work. I am a complete idiot when it comes to that kind of stuff, but I assume I need some kind of thingy to plug into that "aux" jack on the dash? It says on the Honda website that I should have 3 months service for free. Anybody know anything about this stuff?

Thanks in advance.

Local dealer says I need a mount, a radio and an antenna for the pkg price of $444 then they want $260 labor to install it. I may not be the sharpest tool in the drawer, but I am thinking......NO !!

I guess I will look at the universal units now.

So I guess yours didn't come with it installed. You didn't get navigation, did you?

You may want to look into Sirius if you are going aftermarket. Im not real sure on how long XM will stay in buisness, even though, legally they cant go out of buisness. Since satellite raidio came out, we have installed about 1 every 2 weeks or so on average. Since the last month we do about 1 or 2 Sirius a day. Last month we did 45 Sirius and 3 XM units.

Sirius had something like 145,000 activations on Christmas day.

I just dont see a bright future for XM
