real cd quality vs. burnt cd quality
i usually used burned cds so when i was setting the gain on my amp i used a burnt cd but today i put in a real cd and it couldn't go up anywhere near as loud and the bass was alot louder at all volumes...is there anyway i can burn cd's so that they are just as good quality as a real cd...? right now i use itunes to burn cds
the main difference between the two is that normal cd quality uses professional software and the BPM are suited for the songs. if you have downloaded quality music, sometimes the BPM on mp3's are not that great of quality. and on itunes, depending on your burning and importing setting, sometimes the songs are volume-matchedbecause some songs are very soft while others are LOUD as shiznit. and the volume balancing fixes the blaring of the music which protects the speakers.
The only thing I can suggest is to use software that allows you to screw around wtih the bit rate and sampling and all of that.
I use nero, well used to, haven't burned a cd in a while since I can't pirate stuff anymore on the internet i use, they blocked all the good sites.
That might help a little, if your burning a higher bit-rate. I used to burn at pretty good bit-rates and still noticed a difference. My XM radio sounds terrible too, its one of those antenna mounted box add ons. No high's, all bass.

you never want to mess with bitrate. you can't upconvert so chances are, you ripped the CD at too low of a quality or the song you DLed was too low quality.
the best anyone can get for an mp3 file is 320kbps VBR
if you can, convert your stuff to VBR- variable bit rate; it'll sound better. for example 128kbps VBR >128 kbps

oh yeah, I was thinking about ripping and not downloading. Once its downloaded you take whatever bitrate you downloaded it at. Sorry.
I was thinking if you rip your cd's to your computer, use the best bitrate available then burn those songs to a disc in wma, cram more on the disc that way, and the higher bitrate will at least make up for some of the sound loss.. But if its downloaded stuff there isn't anything you can do.

if i edit all the songs on itunes to volume +100% will that change anything
at least make it so I can turn up real cds to the same point at burnt cd's?

well i use itunes as well, and i know you can olay around with eq and bass and all kinds of stuff for the songs on itunes before you transfer them to a cd, im not sure, but i turn all my songs to 100% and it seems to work pretty good, i hate when your listening to a burnt cd and have to turn the hu up, and then you forget and pop in a artists cd and blow your ears out, lol[:@]
