Rear speakers not secure
I put 6by9's in the rear of my car which I had to cut some metal out with a sawza. Now the 6bys just keep coming lose and jumpin around making noise.I was thinking of taking some small thickness plywood and re cuttin the hole and drillin the plywood to the metal in the back. Will this work alright do you think?Or is there something else I can do to keep them in place?
well see how they bolt in thier...
if the screws go into a plastic clip then just go buy some new plastic clips...
but if they go into metal then use a lock washer or some loc tight on the screws. and try not to overtighten the screws if they are plastic... or it will strip the plastic out and wont hold and just keep comen loose.

I cut the plastic piece out and cut the metal and just screwed speaker to metal. But all the speaker didn't hit metal so I couldn't screw it down.So i think if I just recut a piece of plywood to it all hits metal thens screw it down it sould be alright???????
first off what year is your car? I know that from 96 and up honda uses 6x9's and that hole is plenty big for most companies speakers. If you have like a 92-95 then yeah your best bet is to fill the hole you made with a nice flate pice of ply, something like 1/8" birch oughta do it.
id just use some MDF 1/4inch or 1/2inch depending on how good the speakers are
and if you do have it drilled into metal be sure your using fine thread steel screws
course thread will never hold cause the metal is way to thin!
if you realy want them to be secure you can drill the holes alittle bigger and get some small bolts.... just be sure the head of the bolts are smal enough that they wont hit the surround on the speaker or the outter ring... then just stick a nut up from the botom along with a lockwasher....
should hold great!

Well i got the speakers secure and I had to cut out the carpet and cardboard and I cut a little to much.Is there something I could put around the 6bys to have it look nice?
well ya got two choices....
a speaker grill or just recover the rear deck with some material and try bondo over the big gap spots and smooth it down with a palm sander.... at least it would be the easier than hand sanding.LOL
and if ya cut the screw mounting spots to large then just find some scrap sheet metal cut it in strips or to the curve of the speaker and screw it to the rear deck from the botom so it doesnt hold the speaker up anymore than it has to!

Hopefully this will help understand.I am thinking of buying some grey fabric or something.

ya just cut a small piece of the carpet to your local fabric shops and find something as close as you can to match it and just recover it... no big deal...
