I've owned my Civic for abt 4 days. I'm at school while it is still at home getting the exhaust pipe switched out. My dad called me this morning to tell me that all of the cars sitting in the lot at the repair shop got broken into and the radios were all stolen. So now my parents have to pay to get a new window on my car, because the repair shop is not covering the cost for it because the police say they are not liable since it didn't happen inside the shop, just in the parking lot? So yeah my brand new expensive radio is currently being sold for crack money on the street. Thank god I still have the stock radio, but still....****ing blows.

Lots of us have been through the same thing. It's no good. Best you can do is keep your faceplate with you. That adds an extra step for the thief.

Yea I always pull my faceplate off, if I'm just runnin in a store or whatever I'll throw it in my glovebox even though that's dumb since that is the first place they'll look. Best place to put the face (besides with you) would be in your trunk since you can't access it without a key or drilling the lock which they won't go through those troubles for a face unless they know you have subs. But if you don't want to throw it back there just stash it under your seat. But now you learned your lesson the hard way, just plan ahead now and be smart with what you do with it.

you can replace it, since their not too pricey these days, you can pretty much find a decent one for $150-$200

Unfortunately anything over 20 bucks is out of my price range lol. I'm a broke college student, which is part of the reason this pissed me off so bad. If I had the money to replace it the situation would be at least a little better, but I don't.

wow amazing the shop wont do anything, i know the shop that i am part owner of we had a few cars get broken into we didn't have to pay for anything but we replaced all the windows and the stereo's with better models then what they had before. Just our way of taking care of the people so they come back again
