So I've been looking a the Scan Gauge 2 tool at a couple of websites. It offers basic obd2 event reading, alert resets and a whole assortment of trip computer type functions. On the surface it looks pretty good but I'm wondering if anybody has some experience using this or similar devices.

Does it work as advertised? Are there any things it DOESN'T do that it really should? Any other devices that you think are comperable or superior?

This site has some similar tools that have a stronger emphasis on diagnostic abilities without so much trip computing or dash-mount capability.

My primary goal is the diagnostic tools and ability to reset alert conditions. Trip computing is a secondary goal but still a pretty sweet feature.

Anybody with thoughts, concerns, comments?

Edit: I'm thinking maybe I put this in the wrong forum. If a mod thinks it should be in ECU Fuel, etc then feel free to move it, of course. Also, I meant obd2, not eodb. i've got odb databases on the brain...
