Default Some Radio Questions

I really need to get a new digital camera since my last one crapped out, because this would probably be easier if I could just take pictures of everything.

Background info, then question.

Alright, I have an Eclipse CD3000 head unit, Focal 6 inch comps in the front, Alpine 6x9 Type S in the rear, and two alpine Type R twelves in a ported box in the trunk.

The interior speakers are running on an Alpine V-power 4 channel 250 watt ( i believe) amp, and the subs are runnning on a single Alpine V-power 800 watt mono (single channel i think right? ) amp.

That said, its just not as loud nor as hard hitting as I want. I do not however, really want to sacrifice quality for loudness.

I currently have my head unit set to have its crossover on, and its crossover NF on. I believe NF stands for non-fader.

Question 1 - Am I underpowering my subs? And if so, what kind of amp should I look into getting, or should I look at getting two amps and running each sub separately?

Question 2 - Would I be better served by purchasing a new head unit? I have been considering buying an Alpine head unit, since I want to get HD radio and the eclipse converter is going to be a hundred dollars anyway, getting a new Head Unit is an option.

Any advice?
