Ok, I installed a amp about 6 months ago with 1 sub... anyways The sub started making weird noise so i tried to move the wires around and try to hook it up diff to see if it would help.. Didnt help but in the process I touched the speaker wire's coming from the amp to the sub together (if i remeber right) and now i get this popping noise in my front left speaker everytime i switch radio channels and other stuff it just pops once... I do not have the sub or amp hooked up no more... I removed the connector going to the Head unit then plugged it back in did notfix itTook out the under dash fuse and under hood fuse and disconnected battery.. Did not help.. Got new front speakers.. Did not help... need new head unit???

Pioneers are known to be very delicate, my friend had the same problem with his pioneer HU. I lent him my brand new pioneer and it was fine, no noises whatsoever...till it got stolen.

at the same time though, i think like 65% of aftermarket HUs are probably pioneer or premier
then alpine

A pioneer head unit makes alternator whine when the RCA shield comes into contact with any type of voltage or charge
this causes the coupling inside the head unit to blow
so the solution to this is to ground the RCA shield, and it will get rid of the alternator whine
