Default Stock cd player work with amp?

I got an o2 ex and i was wondering if it'd be possible to hook up and amp to power a 10' sub to my stock cd player. My bro said you can splice the wires and hook up some rc cables. But im not sure im going to trust him on that.

yes you can tap in the rear speaker wires and get an amp with a built-in line level converter or buy one seperatly, you connect the speaker wires into that and it loweres the voltage and changes it to rca plugs, but you will not get the quality sound as you would with an aftermarket headunit with a sub out and crossover.

You need a line output converter.
