RE: sub amp match?
If your getting 1 sub, you don't want a 2-ohm dual, you want a 4-ohm dual, it will wire up to 2 ohms.
A dual 2 ohm sub will wire up to 4, which means less overall power from your amp.
If you get a single voice coil sub, 2-ohms is fine, it will stay at 2-ohms when you wire it up.
Heres the wire up for a single Dual 4-ohm http://www.crutchfieldadvisor.com/le...ono_1-4ohm-DVC

RE: sub amp match?
you can get a single coil 2 ohm, or a dual 4ohm coil. the alpine type-r has a rating of 500watts rms and you can get it in dual 4 ohms voice coils, thats the sub im running and love it. I don't know about that model rockford you are looking at, but the last model punch 3 had really sloppy bass, i prefer the alpine type-r (cleaner, tight bass), but thats just my opinion. plus it is the same price http://www.crutchfield.com/S-53Qqbrr...p;i=500SWR1242
