na mines definatly not as loud as it could be with it firing towards the rear... BUT i dont have any well maybe alittle on the right bass note.. have alittle trunk rattle.. JUST ALITTLE

and for my front firing sub it definatly needs to be a good SQ driver as well
cause every little note you hear inside! unlike with a rear firing box every note has to bounce back and most of the nasty noises ya dont hear get eliminated or blocked by the back seat.....
BUT it is also a good thing due to you being able to adjust the subwoofer.... one your gains or boosts levels arent as high and you hear every note so you know when your pushen it to hard or have to adjust the crossover points and settings..
ALSO if ya push your sub to hard on that song that just KICKS @SS!!!! ya we all have that song in your head when ya crank it to its MAX!!!!!! if ya start to overheat the sub by pushen it to hard you smell the voice coils alot quicker which if your smart will tell you to turn your KICK @SS song down alittle abit.LOL it can save your subwoofer!

but its a give and take setup.... i could rebuild my subwoofer box and be able to push back the rear wall ruffly 4-6inches... which is quite a bit realy.... id just have to make it more complex to fit the trucks contor.... which i might just do eventualy... but it would have to be built closer to the walls contors and around the strut mounts and around my 6x9s and around the trunk sway bars... BUT it can be done... .just more complex..

sorry no picture of the top clearance but its quite a bit cause my 6x9s hang down alot!

I had the place I bought it from set the level of the sub... I am afraid of blowing something up. SQ driver is what? I have recently got into a band called The Format and a song called Time Bomb... I play it really loud but it doesnt make my subwoofer smell or anything... I just dont think mine is strong enough.

SQ driver is SOUND QUALITY just has great sound quality.... built for more daily driving
SPL SOUND PRESSURE LEVEL built for bruatal loudness
SQL is a MIX between good SQ and still preaty loud

every brand name has thier BRUTAL sub and thier great sounding sub!

but with SQ you suffer loudness.... but they will sound smooth and tight bass!

for instance my current REaudio sub is a 12inch SX.... it smore of a SQL. BUT if i wanted a louder sub with my same amp and box i could upgrade to thier MT model sub which will be louder per watt... and will also take twice if not three times the power BUT the SQ wouldnt be that great!
also thier new XXX driver is thier best SQ driver which is suposed to get preaty loud and still sound great!
which i can believe cause ive owned thier older XXX model and it sounded great also! just didnt get that loud

I think they're from AZ... could be CA... They rock... I'll have to check out that song... I REALLY want to put my subs in my car... but we're tight on the $$$ right now.

At least my 6 x 9's give me SOME bass... not bad for stockers.

Basicly I have a design in my head to save me space in the trunk cause all im putting in there is 2 10" L5 Kicker Subs and a 1000Watt Kicker amp so it should deff. hit a lot hard then what i have in my car right now which is just a Single 12" Infinity Refence with a 350Watt Kicker amp. But thanks for all the input

i think someone said a sheet of 3/4 mdf is 40 bucks? well i bought a sheet at lowes, a really large sheet of it for a little over 21 bucks after taxes. when you make the box though, which i havent seen anyone say anything about this yet but you have to look up the specs for your subs and see how much air space they need.. if you want it ported or sealed will change the amt of airspace needed also. i suggest doing one box with 2 compartments also that way you have the right amount of air space for ea sub and just for in case one sub blows the other will still have the right amount of airspace so that it wont be damaged also. i dont know where else you can get the carpet for it but i found on an ebay store a place selling 60 sq feet of carpet for $14, so you might want to do some looking around.

True, a sheet of MDF is about $20. I dont know why someone said 40. Now, you are right with the air space. But on the general norm for a typical sub, 1.5 square feet for a box is awesome especially since the average sub is designed for that. Not everybody can or wants to stick a 100lb 3-4 sqft box in their trunk.
