Default subs/amp help

ive got two 10" pioneers wired in a mono series, so the subs are together in a box.
would a 1000watt sony xplode amp push them good? i am not sure about the specs on the subs though.

without stats, I'm pretty sure you're going to blow your system down the line. You have to specify WHICH pioneer subs, the ohm rating you have wired them for and their RMS if possible. If you just hook up any amp to any sub, yeah it'll work...for a little while
and probably sound like **** in the process
you really need to focus on specs, they are incredibly important in car audio

sony car audio sucks. look into other brands. that 1000w is probably about 400w rms

Yeah, sub specs are important to know. There's a good possibility that you could wire it up and have a resistance load that the amp cannot handle. Then you'll be wondering why you are popping fuses every other heavy bass track....or the amp will keep going into protection mode...or some other messed up situation. If you find out the specs for the subs and then provide the details on teh amp as well someone will be able to suggest a proper wiring setup so you arent trashing the equipment.

I guarantee that sony amp is only about 200 RMS at MOST. Not 400 like said above.
But hey, should sounds better than nothing.

I had one of the few 2nd edition sony amps way back in the day. It was 400 watts, and it cut out and sounded horrible. Sony makes decent stuff, but they aren't the top choice for an amy in my opinion.

I would at least start with rockford and only go up, like kicker, alpine.. Those are my "starter" amp suggestions. Most of the timea correctly paired amp from one of those 3 will stay strong for a long time.

Make sure you look online or talk to some one to help you. I fried an amp back in the day because I wired it wrong to the subs. And then I blew a sub because the amp was pushing too much power - I turned it up way too loud!!! But the good thing is I got new stuff
