And no offense at all man, Best Buy is real convienant and I buy plenty of stuff from there, but they really aren't a good place to pick up audio equipment. Not saying you are but 90% of their installers are terrible, and their products are enourmously overpriced.

 

oh no offense takendude i agree most of our installer do suck. I just got lucky and got a good one to teach me what I know. When he left I got fed up with the other retards and left which is why i dont do it anymore. and most of the time i dont even get my stuff from best buy, but the type E alpine package does sound good for the price.

 

Yeah, I had a buddy with a single type e in his camaro and it sounded decent. But it came with the car, and I highly doubt he would have choosen to go with it. And it came with that prefab bandpass box as well.

 

ya its not my sub of choice either, but not everyone can afford the more expensive stuff, and its pretty good for its price.

 

check out alpine type r's. They arent tremendously loud, but I just built a ported box 2 cubes tuned to 32hz for a buddy of mine. He has 1 Type R 12" with about 800-900 watts on it, and its real clear and hits pretty deep. I think he paid $140 for type R 12". If you look around might be able to find one little cheaper. And like mentioned above sundown amps are real good for price.
