Default Trouble with deck and electrical system

I have a 01 civic lx .. One day I thought I should change out my deck . I buy a harness , get everything wired how I thought it should .. Yellow to yellow , red to red ect....

When I went to start it up nothing worked .. My stock deckdidn't work .. I relized thier was a blown fuse in the interior fuse box .. I replaced it .. My deck still wasn't powering up.. So I checked all the fuses in the exterior box , they turned out to be all ok .. Suddenly my dome light doesn't work when I open my door .. only time it works is when I have my key in .. same with the beeping sound I get when I have my lights on .. it will beep untill I take my key out .. My lock doesn't work at all also. I have no idea what's wrong .. I looked at all my fuses , I wired every thing great .. I need help

well with some after market head units the wire color wont always be the same, you have to look at the wires and some might say on them what they are or be labeled some how or you might have to try to see where they go or if they are in pairs of colors you know those are on speaker and so on. some also have wires that don't get used, or the stock radio might have ones not used, if you get a harness adapter it should take care of all this (as far as color code) but not always, they don't always have the right one

Yeah don't trust the wire color, always go by the function of the wire from the book or the label on the unit. The $79 "VR3" head unit is particularly bad at not following conventional wire colors.

Not sure if it was already fixed or not, but I would replace the fuses, even if you think they are good...just an idea. I made a $80 mistake because I thought I had all good fuses and thought a major electrical problem....not saying anything more about that haha!

I know how to check fuses, but they can be deceiving at times...
