the type r's are defientely gonna be the best. the only down side is that they have a sensitivity rating of 89 db, which means you will have to put more power behind them to get the same volume of something with a highter db rating. but if you put a 4-ch amp on them like i recommended earlier, then it won't be an issue at all. but they will still sound really good off of an aftermarket radio too.

also if you have power mirrors, you should have the tweeter up on the inside of the mirror, if you do have that, then make sure that you get a component set for the front 6.5" speakers. they are a little bit more expensive, but they sound a lot better and will increase the clarity. but if not, the regular 6.5 type r speakers sound awesome too.

oh and type r's only come in 2-way.
rear 6x9 - SPR-69C
front 6.5 - SPR-17C
optional front 6.5 components - SPR-17S (if you have the tweeters, if not get the ones above)

don't buy used. you never know what kind of shap a speaker is in just by its picture. plus the person could say they are good but they are really blown, but because he doesn't know much about speakers he still thinks they are good.

i would just buy new. and any 6.5 will fit the front with no mods. any 6x9 will fit the back with no mods.

the only thing about the front speakers is that when yo pull the oem one out, there will be a housing behind the speaker that will have to be cut out. and this is with pretty much any speaker you get. and you will prolly have to take the door panel off to do it. but it really not hard

i have Type S 6.5's and 6x9's. they sound awesome, even without a 4 channel amp. i had mine wihtout an amp for a long time, and they sounded great, but definitly better with an amp. i paid 300 canadian for all 4 speakers, and they were definitly worth it. Type R will obviously sound better, but for the price, cant go wrong with Type S either.

boston acoustics separates front/6x9rear and if you get kick panel pods you can do 2 sets up front which is pretty loud!

I have the 07 Si sedan, do you think changing the 4 speakers will improve the sound? I don't want to add another amp. Just use the factory 350 watt total system. I want to get new speakers that are efficient and don't require a separate amp. What do you suggest? I know all about efficiency and how component speakers sound much better but require more power to be at their best. What will improve the bass/mid's/treble and still be efficient and as loud as the factory speakers. $$$ is NOT an issue.
Thanks much, Jeff.
