what 6 1/2s and 6x9s should i get???
If dosh isnt an issue, why not just get a better/another amp? You will never get the full potential of your speakers without one. As far as entry level speakers go, its basicly all the same but remember that you get what you pay for. If you got the green, Id say alpine, but I run Sony, which is ALOT cheaper (well here it is anyway) cause I earn SFA and I am genuinely impressed with how it preforms. Thats just my opinion, Im no expert.

I have the 07 Si sedan, do you think changing the 4 speakers will improve the sound? I don't want to add another amp. Just use the factory 350 watt total system. I want to get new speakers that are efficient and don't require a separate amp. What do you suggest? I know all about efficiency and how component speakers sound much better but require more power to be at their best. What will improve the bass/mid's/treble and still be efficient and as loud as the factory speakers. $$$ is NOT an issue.
Thanks much, Jeff.

Thanks. I have had full Alpine systems in cars in the past. I know they are great. But I really didn't want to alter the stock system as far as head unit. It has the premium 350 watt total system. Its probably about 25rms x 4 for the 6.5" and 75rms for the 8" sub. Total 350 in peak max. I was just looking to add a little upper bass/mid and treble. The stereo sounds really good. I was just thinking about changing the four 6.5" speakers. And since the front speakers have separate tweeters on the dash, buying front door speakers with tweeters will add even more treble. Like having 4 tweeters up front. I don't think the rear speakers are coaxials, they sound like the front door speakers without the separate tweeters. I looked under the rear deck in the trunk and the metal cutout is odd shapped, like I would have to use a Dremel tool to grind down the hole so it would be round. The magnets on the rear deck speakers are SO SMALL, I don't see how they sound as good as they actually do.
I went to Circuit City and asked about an after market amp to be added to the factory indash. Using a hi level to low level adapter converter, which I really don't like. I much more prefer all low level RCA plugs but the factory indash head unit doesn't have them. I use to install cars systems years ago so I know and understand everything about stereo's, speakers, audio/video. I have designed and build about 20 sets of high end speakers and MANY subwoofers using Bassbox Pro 6.0. The amp at Circuit City they suggested was a Rockford Fossgate 45rms x 4 for $299, then the converter and install with all the needed wiring would cost about $550. I usually buy all my home and car audio/video at United Audio/Now called Tweeter. The last car I had, I had a dual 10" sub and a 300 watt mono sub amp added to my factory stereo and it sounded OK but not like an amp and sub added to an after market head unit with the proper RCA inputs. Converters SUCK IMO.

I can't believe no one has even mentioned Kicker. Kicker makes probably the best speakers of all (maybe only second to Alpine)! Plus they are durable. You can beat the hell out of them and they won't blow.
Kicker?? Kicker only make good subs. Its Focal, then Alpine or RF, than maybe Pioneer or after that. Why dont you just strip the Stock HU n amp out n get something nicer in there?
If I were you I would invest in a component set up. personally I prefer alpine or infinity, but if I had my personal choise, diamond makes the best overall speakers. Af far as installation goes, you will have to install the tweeters into the door, dash, or whereever you want, but you will have to modify the car to do so. If you want just the door speakers, go with a set of alpine or infinity on www.millionbuy.com because they really do have low prices and I have shopped there before. I would advise against ebay because if they are used, you do not know how they were treated, or if they are "refurbished" you dont know where orwho refurbished them IMO.
if you are really talkin about the best, then theres brands like focal, soundstream, and dyne audio, but those are all freakin expensive, so i stick with alpine, polk, and infinity
