yeah so basically i already had one bad experience trying to put in rockford fosgate front speakers into the car. the guy at best buy only told me that the size would fit but forgot about the depth. it was too deep. i was wondering what speakers out there fit the slim door panel of a 04 coupe yet, doesnt compromise on quality. plus i have the stupid factory installed optional 6 cd changer. best buy people told me that i would have the wires split into an amp and sub, for a lower quality quality. but it would be the only way to really get an amp and sub in there without buying a new deck. i learned not to listen to best buy people bc they proved to know nothing on the topic. hoping somebody in here could tell me what speakers, amp and sub to get, along with how to get the amp and sub hooked up.

 

Should be 6.5" in the front, and 6x9" in the back.

 

61/2's in the front and 6x9's in the rear. I've had great experience with infinity speakers, along with kicker, eclipse, alpine, and polk, all really great speakers. As far as not wanting to swap out the deck, and running a sub amp, you need a line out put converter to run it off your factory deck. Reason being is you have no preouts on your factory deck where your RCAs would plug into. The line out put will let you do this. IMO I would swap out the deck just because your not going to get your full potential out of your speakers. A factory deck is going to push any where from 4-12 watss as a nice aftermarket would push anywhere from 22-26RMS, but hey its your car. A lot of people will recommend JL audio, they are always a safe bet. You can also do eclipse and kicker stuff, always a great buy. Look into kickers ZX amps and there L5's or L7's. And look into eclipse's titanium woofers. Good louck man, and welcome to the forum.

 

you need to get a spacer (1" thick plastic ring) to fit most aftermarket speakers, it sticks out the speaker 1", because of the weird shape of the hole on the 01-05 civics. unless you get speakers with small magnets in the back. i know my infinity components were pretty big, so i bought the 20$ spacer.

 

even when i spaced it out, the speaker wouldnt fit with the door back on, so i would have had to cut out the plastic cover.

 

yup, i know, same with mine, i cut the ring inside of the door cover.

 

I put infinity's in my 02 with no spacer. just had to drill new holes that's all.
