Default Mini me mod for autocross

Been asking my club, and they have not gotten back to me so far, but where would I get moved to IF I were to do a mini me.

Currently in HS, and my hatch(97 cx)is Vtak-less, hence why I'm lookin at doin it.

methinks I'd be moved to SM, but that seems quite the jump for something astrivial as that

Also whats a good RPM area to launch at, currently i'm doing so around 3k

you may be in DSP, thoi cant say for sure.

Street Prepared allowed modification.
C. Equipment and/or specifications may be exchanged between
different years and models of a vehicle if (a) the item is standard
on the year/model from which it was taken, and (b) the years/
models are listed on the same line of Appendix A (Street Prepared
Classes). The updated/backdated part or the part to which
it is to be attached may not be altered, modified, machined or
otherwise changed to facilitate the updating/backdating allowance.
Standard factory installation methods, locations, and configurations
are allowed. The updating and/or backdating of
engines, transmissions or transaxles must be done as a unit;
component parts of these units may not be interchanged. Cars
not listed in the Street Prepared sections of Appendix A may not
85
be updated/backdated until approved by the SEB and published in
the official SCCA publication.

but then wouldn't I have to do a full motor swap, not just the mini-me... ie is the only difference from a d16y7 to a d16y8 the vtec?

also the great all-knowing wikipedia hath said that the CX never had vtak...
that being said one could use this rule to swap a b16a, or a k20 which I don't think is right... would be great though

Must also be said, but I wish I had competition when i go, there are no other civics, or anyone in H... there once was a mustang, but that was the first race with mis-matched tires, and I only got like 3 timed runs(a supercharged RSX suffered a catastrophic break failure when the upper passenger side ball-joint broke)... stupid rich canadians using lotus', vettes, modded MR2s...

I'm betting you'd be in SM since A) you're mix-matching engine components and B) the CX never had VTEC
