Gimp is a lot easier to use if you just look stuff up on youtube. There are helpful editorials all over on how to use GIMP.

Justin, seriously try gimp2 again. It's what I use (at the moment) and it's pretty simple once you get the basics. That and it's easy to do simple things with... I can bust out a half-a**ed drop in literally 45 seconds and do a decent one in 5 mins. And I do mean literally.

Did this one in a little under a minute while keeping up with a convo on AIM. Give me another 4 minutes to add a few shadows and clean up some spots (like the gaps) and it'd look a good bit better:

(trying to figure out where the front bumper I'm going to get is going to sit with the drop I want. Looks like speed bumps aren't happening lol)

And this one took me about 5 minutes:

Now, we're talking a guy with serious ADD here, so someone with more than a 30 second attention span could probably bust them out even faster. Once you get the hang of gimp, it's cake.

And yes, I know this is a month-old thread. But it's 11:00 on a friday and the forum is dead, and I'm bored.

I'm working on it, don't worry. I just moved into a new apartment and got a new job about a month ago, so I'm still trying to get financially situated, but once I get everything settled and start getting extra money coming in, I'm going to start buying parts. The $3k estimate might actually be a little high now... I was originally figuring around $1500 for an independent rear suspension conversion, but from the looks of it, the average price for an IRS unit is now around $1k. I'm still looking in the $2500-$3k range though.

But sometime next month (probably towards the end of the month) I'm going to be getting camber/caster plates, and when I get them I'll probably cut about a coil off the springs (maybe a coil and a half, but no more than that) since I'll need a new alignment anyway. It'll reduce the life of my shocks and struts, but it'll do for a few months until I can afford my new suspension. And I know, I criticized you for cutting your springs when you did it, but from the way you explained it, you used a torch of some kind, and heat tends to lower the tensile strength of the spring; using a cutoff wheel or a hacksaw won't effect the strength of the spring. So basically, look for me to be dropped an inch or two in the next month or two... then when I get the new suspension goodies in, expect me to have one of the lowest cars on the forum
