My first chop...YES I KNOW..
First off... i know i suck lol.
Well i just started messing with GIMP.. i got photoshop, but GIMP looks better to start off on lol. and i was trying to do a chop of my car in a different location, like the desert. but its kinda tricky to make it look realistic huh. lol
any tips or good tutorials out there that you guys know that might help? i saw how to make a layer on youtube and stuff... but bearly getting the hang of it lol

I don't have much advice to offer on gimp. But it at least looks like you have the eye to see that the car matches the background as far as perspective goes. It would help your car look in place if there was a shadow underneath it.
I know with photoshop you can google tutorials for whatever you are trying to do..guess the same goes for gimp. That would be my suggestion since I don't use that software. Glad to see someone else interested in chopping. Keep at it!

honestly, i would try adding the shadow, and since the background looks old and the car looks shiney and just.. THERE.. haha, i would mess with the contrast of it

Yeah, the underground level. MWahahahaha.
The reason the pic looks bad, is the angle of the pictures. They don't match. The pic of the background was taken from a higher level than that of the car. Those must be close, or else it will always look off. Also there is too much sun glare on your car for the sun being behind the clouds.
Try putting your car lower in the picture, and making it bigger. Would look a lot better. And the shadow is a must.
Your shop of the car is good. A little playing around and learning and you'll be good.
