Default Cleaning Tint with Alcohol ?

I browsed around and only saw 1 thread with regards to interior detailing, I thought I would post this question to see what everyone thinks.

When I had my first car, a Beamer, I through some 15% on it and swore I was told to clean it with a light water/alcohol mixture, like 25% alcohol 75% water, to help remove stains and dry faster. I did it several times without a problem on that vehicle, but yesterday I was cleaning the same way on the civic, a tint Job that has been on there for a while, and I got this funky looking scum to start forming on the inside of the tint.

I went back and basicly had to polish it out with a towel, and it took forever. I didn't know if maybe the alcohol was a bad idea, or If maybe they just hadn't been cleaned in ages. I know I should buy a tint-safe cleaner, but I was making due with what I have around here.

Anyone seen that happen, or clean with alcohol ? TIA

Typically I just use water a rag and it comes out spotless but I'd like to know if this mixture does work.

they say for tint to use window cleaner without alcohol. alcohol will ruin the glue for the tint..

alcohol isnt gonna hurt, the best thing you can use is soap and water. or glass plus basicly anything without amonia in it

I didnt clean my tinted windows FOREVER because I was afread I was going to screw up the tint. But like a month ago I talked to some people and I ended up getting Invisible Glass. Its great, cleans well and does not effect the tint..I can actually clean my windows now!
