Default Window Slime??

I live in Texas and it gets HOT. For the past few years (the car wasn't mines at until recently) something on the inside of the door melts when the car sits in direct sunlight and when you roll the window down and up some weird slime/glue or whatever streaks up the glass. Anyone ever encountered this?

I'll post pics when the sun comes up.

Is it dingy and brown-ish looking?

Do either of you smoke, or buy cars from people who smoked in them? I used to have this issue when I smoked like a chimney in my car, but since I quit I've never seen it again.

I had this problem on my 97 coupe. Your guess about the rubber strip is correct. I pulled my door panel apart and found that it was the rubber strip that runs along the top of the door panel. There is like a felt type material on that strip and it was all melted and goopey and was getting all over my window when I rolled it up and down. I bought a new one from the stealership and replaced it. No more goopey stuff on the window!
