1986 Si - PGM-FI light on and wierd idle
Anyone have any idea what that could mean? I've seen fuel injectors on ebay for pretty cheap. How difficult y'all think it would be to swap in some new fuel injectors? The wierd idle thing is that until it's pretty warm, the RPMs bounce, dropping to 800 then jumping up to about 1.5k and dropping back down, etc. It happens maybe 15-30 times a minute. Once completely warm, though, the idle will do a steady 1 to 1.2k. Other than that, nothing else seems to be wrong.
There isn't a "check engine" light, as that's a feature of the on board diagnostic computers in newer cars. I don't know the electrical systems in this old civic, but the only light that has come on is the "PGM-FI" light, which I'm fairly sure is referring to something to do with the fuel injectors or related sensors.
