Default air fuel ratio

i have an 95 civic ex i have an air fuel guage when ever my car is idleing the ratio is all the way to the lean side or inbetween lean and ideal. My plugs were getting old they are ngk zfr5j i had some spare bosch platinum 4 around now after installing them at idle im in the ideal to rich level i was wondering if this is normal do to having more spark i know the ecu will compensate with more fuel but will this ruin my mpg has any one else had this problem.

Dude, it probably is because of the plugs, but nothing to worry about. No, it wont affect your mileage. Dont worry bout it.

platnium plugs are a joke to say, just a gimmic, but hondas tend to run lean at idle and low speed for the awsome gas milage. But i wouldnt be worried about what your gauge says, its not accurate to a dead on point like a wide band, just a rough idea of what your a/f ratio is

Unless its a wideband AF gauge, dont even pay attention to it.

Honestly, it's not even a rough idea. Narrowbands are only good for a light show. No offense. I just pulled mine out.
