Default average dyno tuning

ok this is to see which way to go to. if i get a greddy kit. i woudn't need to dyno tune@ the time, but i'm thinking of peicing it together. so the question is how much does the average tune cost and more or less how long does it take??

There are so many variables to take into account that there is no way we could give you an accurate answer. Provided your install was perfectly sound, you had all finctioning parts, and the only thing they had to do was fine tune it... I'd say it would take anywhere from 2-4 hours, and will probably run you at LEAST $100 (that is a dirt cheap estimate).

If you wanted to save some cash, you could always go for a street tune instead. I'm a firm believer that you should start off your tuning on the street, get it to where it needs to be, THEN fine tune things on the dyno.

Street tuning is the same thing as dyno tuning, only done while you're car is in motion.

... seems complicated. well i just wanted some level ground more or less what a dyno would be ( thinking it would be like 1g or so) so that gave me an estimate more or less

Every dyno shop is going to charge a different price, and like I said, there are a lot of variables to tak into consideration.

Maybe someone who's actually had their car tuned on a dyno can pipe up...

No, I'm only running a street tune, but a damn good one. I've got some big things planned for the winter/spring. Once the new goodies go in, I'll have it re-street tuned, then I'll put it on the Dyno for finishing touches.

i have heard people charging from 500-800 just to tune your car on the dyno. i would agree with forty and get it street tuned first and then get it dyno'd to just make it just right. you will end up saving money in the long run if you do this, IMO

I was charged a flat rate of 300 bucks to have my car tuned on the dyno. It took about 3 hours to complete and was the best 300 bucks I ever spent!! Every shop is different though so plan to spend anywhere from 300 to 600 (only estimating). If ur gonna spend alot of money on a turbo system do urself a favor and don't skimp out on the tune or fuel management.
