im so mad, dont know get I get that kind of mpg, 90% of my driving is on freeway, 60-90 mph, i try to keep the engine under 4000RPM. some one explain why I only get 27.2 mpg? Should not I get 37mpg out of my SOHC stock?
mods: NGK platium plugs, 9mm wire, new distributor, caps, fuel fiter, sri intake, I did fuel injection cleaning and fuel system tune up 2 months ago.

 

dont feel bad I get like 8 to 14mpg no matter where I drive

um your car if Forked up bad...my 98 gets about 42 mpg and my driving is 50% city ( 4-5k shifts) and 49% highway, 75 mph -100 mph. 1% ideling before school...(its cold in ohio!)

I devide the milage (270) over 10 gallon everytime i fill up

'96 civic ex 5 speed and i get 150 miles out of my fuel tank

 

i dont have a fuel gauge (well its broken, but there) so i put 4 gallons of fuel in and then divide the total millage (about 160-165) untill the fuel light comes on....so far (about 7-8 months) this has proved accurate as i have never ran out of fuel. now that fuel is down a little more here in ohio, i get $10 which is around 4.67 gallons, 4X40=160, and even though i have the extra half gallon, i still get fuel at 160 miles......it could be a number of things that give you poor millage. is your ignition advanced? could be that... do you have a heavy system? do you "haul" things or fat people? all of these things are contributing factors...
