Default checking my codes from the ECM using a PAPER CLIP??

Some guy at AutoZone told me I could do that when I told him about my problem after buying some oil. Use a paper clip as a jumper wire in the diagnostic terminalto check my codes. I checked my Haynes manual and it said a jumper wire will cause the CEL to blink a long blink and then short blink(s) which we then be my code(s) [one after the other]. Would a paper clip really work? I don't know what to use for a jumper wire if not. Thanks.

Search, there are DIY's as well as trouble code lists all over the place for this.

Yes, a paperclip will work
