chip
I went to my Honda dealer and the guy in the parts department told me that getting an intake and then sending my chip out to be recalibrated would make a huge difference in power. Several others I have talked to say that the recalibration would only be effective if I had F/I. So what do you guys think? (Also...how would doing the chip thing affect my gas mileage?)
You are going to hear varying opinions on chips, but I took the Pepsi challenge and came out almost half a second faster in the quarter mile by putting a chipped ECU in my N/A Z6. The gas milage really wasn't that noticeable either. Maybe 2-3 mpg. The more mods you have- the more you can benefit form "tuning."
As far as chipping your ECU with just an intake- the numbers I have seen indicate a 5-7 Hp increase in a stock application. Pretty good, but that number will increase with every mod. I wouldn't chip now unless you go with something that has datalogging and that you can re-program with every new mod.

Whats the Pepsi challenge?
