ECU Question....
How do OBD2-OBD1 conversion harnesses work? You just need an OBD1 ECU and the harness, and it's just plug and play (aside from getting it tuned), right? I'm asking because I'm trying to keep my car emissions legal, etc. Is it possible to use a OBD1 conv. harness and the ECU for tuning, driving, etc....and when I go for emissions, put the OBD2 back in? Or does anyone have another suggestion as to how to do some kind of tuning on an OBD2 ECU, if it's even possible? Right now, I've got a Skunk2 IM, 60mm Throttle Body (plan to upgrade to a bigger one..maybe 63 or 66, not sure which would be more suitable for me), AEM Short Ram, DC Sports 4-2-1 Headers, Magnaflow hi-flow cat, and an Apexi WS2 exhaust. Would like to get some Skunk2 or Crower stage 1 camshafts, a cam gear, and some pulleys. I'm waiting to get the camshaft because I've read that you'll need some kind of tune once you get them. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
