I have a 97 civic lx...a friend of mine had an ex computer in his dx and it made a difference in his top end....i borrowed another one of my friends ex computers and hooked it up and its hitting a limiter at 5300rpms....i was told about eliminating pins but im not sure if it will work....someone have any ideas?

Yea it comes on immediately when i put the ecu in but goes off when i change it back

 

I'm not sure about this, but don't LXs have an economy version of VTEC? I always thought that they have totally different programming and shouldn't be interchangable with the EXs.

 

lx is non-vtec. you might be able to find a way to feed the ecu the right thing into the vtec wire, and it would let the car run, but i dont know how you would do that.
