Default A/F Gauge

I want to get the Autometer shortband A/F ratio gauge, but I need to know if there is any accuracy in this thing at all. I know, I know I need to buy a wideband, but I don't have that kind of money, and this will be 100% NOT for tuning, merely as a reference to make sure I'm not running super rich or super lean. Is it worth it?

yea as long as it stays green when u are at WOT u know ur not running lean. Its a narrowband, so its pretty much worthless. However i do have one, just to get a ballpark figure of my a/f ratio.

If you're going to turbo your car you either need a wideband, or need to get it professionally tuned. Either way the AF gauge is merely for show, Dont bet the life of your motor based on that gauge.

Yeah, mine kida jumps around worthlessly, but like Pete said, it gives you an idea of what's going on at WOT.

yea, if u are at WOT and its red.........well youve got a problem. When i slam it down the A/F is very very green. My greddy blue box must love how that 93 octane tastes, cuz it chugs it down under boost like WHOA.
