Default Idle Air Control Valve

Do you need a idle air control vavle for a 00 civic EX? I bought a new intake manifold off of ebay and there is no spot for the idle air control valve.

I think you'll throw a CEL (code 13: IACV sensor) and your idle will fluctuate up and down

yes you need it. its helps stabilize the idle at a normal level. so when your a/c kicks on it does't stall your engine, or when your parking and the power steering is running at high pressure and putting excessive drag on the motor at idle, it will stay at the same rpm.

its also used as a signal to the ecu to determine injector pulse width along with many other sensors in your car.
