It's probably just his truck. My cousin has this ancient Ford F150 that he uses that in, and he doesn't have any probs whatsoever. Personally, I'm partial to Mobil 1 full synthetic....but unless you're getting sponsored or something by a specific brand, it really just comes down to personal preference.

There are basically only two ways to ruin a Honda engine: don't change the oil or overheat it. Clean oil of any decent variety will be just fine, provided that the viscosity is correct for your engine. I had to replace the engine of the used Civic I bought because the previous putz didn't maintain anything, and the engine was all gummed up.

I have a 99 Civic EX Coupe with 93K on it, im using the Castrol GTX SYNTECH 10W-30, and i change the oil every 2,500 miles together with the oil filter. People say it doesnt hurt to change the oil and that you can do it every single time you take your car out a spin, but that would just be too much work and time loss. But at least you keep the engine clean LOL

Should I change the brand and viscocity or the oil im using now its fine?

Thanks...
