Flip, the basemap gets put onto a chip, which gets placed into the socketed ECU, they are two separate pieces. He got a new CHIP from Phearable, which has the basemap on it.

The ecu is a p06. The cel flashes faster than the stock though

well one long blink is 10, one short blink is 1, the p06 isnt VTEC, thats really odd that its throwing a VTEC code, i say send it back to the Phearable.

double check again to make sure that is the code you're getting... then email phearable and tell them what's up. I don't really have an explanation

they might say you messed up with the socketing... have you done it before? just wondering.

It's the third i've socketed, the first for myself. When it gives the cel, like i said, it's still 2 long/ 2 short flashes. Just not at the same speed as the unchipped ecu. alot faster. I'll e-mail p-ble and get the map specs. I plan on getting it tuned this weekend, i'f there;s still a time slot ava.

Did you socket it to P28 spec? If so, that would be your problem.

Either that, or VTEC is enabled in the basemap, that would probably cause the CEL to be thrown anyway. There's no way to just get rid of the highcam maps in Crome, but you can disable VTEC and therefore "hide" the highcam stuff.

can you post which DIY you used for socketing? That can clear up a lot of things.
