OBD2 to OBD1 conversion ?'s
Ok, so i'm wanting to do the b16 swap, BUT, i now found an OBD1 GSR engine that i would love to swap in, only problem is my car is of course OBD2. Now, i know they make the wiring harness converters, BUT, my friend keeps telling me to make sure i get an OBD2 engin. Is there any downside or problems that will occur from just using the converter?? Also, does it matter that i'm switching a manual transmission in an auto car. My other friend told me that the clutch would never feel right and so on, which i'm under the impression that it wouldn't be too bad. Is the 5 speed swap as hard as my friends told me it was or what??? Thanks in advance for the help!!
Your freinds are dumb, don't listen to them. A GSR is an excellent swap and has been done many many times. Its not exactly easy, but theres plenty of information out there that should help you through it
And no, theres nothing wrong with running a conversion harness

i have a obd2 car and a b16a in mine with the skunk 2 converter box works fine. but like they said it is illegal and shouldn't pass emissions but most of the shops i went to didn't even know what to look for. but i don't have all the hard emissions yet just visuals
