Default is this ok?

so i am considering buying a chipped ECU from phearable for $175.
So its just plug and play?
Is there anything wrong with running this ECU with just I/H/E?
Im gonna be putting on a throttle body and intake manifold if that makes a difference?
anything else I need to know?
Ive been reading up alot about them, and am just curious about them

Yes it should be just plug and play... But make sure there are no modifications done to the chip like a 1.8L fuel map if you have a 1.6L or you will be running very rich and fail emissions by alot if you have em.

phearable is a great place to get a safely chipped ECU. I and another HCF member have the chips from phearable. I have yet to solder mine in but, I'm waiting for some free time to do it.

I chose to just buy the chip and install it myself. But you can also get the chipped ECU and keep or sell yours.

cool thanks for the info guys.
Yea i want to buy a already chipped one, so i can swap my stock one back for emissions.
how much did you notice the gains?
Also, I dont need to solder anything right? Its basically just a bolt on, I just wanna make sure before spending $255 on it, cause that could be suspension money haha

Right, you can buy the pre-chipped ECU for 175 or whatever, or buy just the chip and and solder it to your ECU for 30.

yeah, it remaps your fuel and air intake to be more efficient/powerful on the gas (which you have to run mid-grade or higher). Worth it?, sure.

Well, you definitely can and probably should. Since you plan on getting the chip from Phearable, you can update the chip as you see fit. Once the ECU is chipped, the main "logic" chip can be removed to switch with a different "logic" chip. It's only 15 bucks to update.
