What would this actually do for your motor and can you get the ECU reflashed at a honda dealership?

 

what type of car do you drive? Need to know because the OBD2 can not be reprogamed.

 

2005 Civic LX 1.7L (non-Vtec)

 

Sure they can, haven't you ever seen those commercials on TV for the reflash thing? You hook it up to the OBD II port and press a couple buttons and it will reflash the ECU. I know that a friend o fmine is trying to get a laptop OBD II scanner + software b/c they can reflash ECUs. He has the file for the GTI that adds like 40HP so he wants to flash ppl's ECUs for like $300 a pop.

 

that will not work, when ever a power programer gets plagged in to a new car it "matted" that certian ecu, and if u try to remove the so called "programmer" it will not "program" a new ecu untill he un-mates it with the first ecu that he programed, when u hook it to the obd port it reads the ecu vin and remembers it because they are allot smarter then us and made this feature so we cant buy a programmer for 380 and keep using it to make a profit, there not goin to let ur friend make money off it, they want every one to buy there programmer, so tell your friend sorry

well said, but somebody could have it done if they are good enough, it was programed to begin with.
