Default switching ecu

a kid i work with has an EK hatch, and he wired up a vtec light, but it doesnt turn on. He said he might have a problem with his ECU and wants to put mine in his car to see if it fixes his problem, to see if he needs to buy a new ECU. Is it safe to let him use mine for a few minutes while he tests something? what could go wrong?

Should be fine. My tuner uses his ecu in tons of different cars to test and see if the owner's ecu is bad

Also, make sure its the same ecu! 99-00s are different than 96-98. Manual and Autos are different as well.

the easiest way to check it is to plug it in, and turn the key to the on postition and the CEL light will come on on the dash
