Its ridiculous. I want them to tell me how in one way what so ever is it proper for the springs to be reduced in length, when they are designed and calculated by engineers to be most efficient for the car from the factory the way they are.
There's a right way and a wrong way to cut springs. Done correctly, they'll be just fine (though you still need better struts just like you'd need with any springrate higher than stock). And engineers designing them to be most efficient? I didn't think efficiency came into play with springs; I was pretty sure they were designed from the factory for ride quality more than handling. I know 90% of the people that cut springs don't bother finding out how to do it correctly, nor do they bother running a few numbers to figure out how much they need to cut to reach a desired springrate, but from the way you're talking it would seem you believe any cut spring is terrible.
Justin, again, I have good reason for thinking you're going to suislide into a tree in the T-bird.

Nah. I have been practicing with it. Have only spun out once and that was becuase I didn't notice the gravel patch. I can take 90degree turns at about 30mph now with the gas all the way.
